All Carian inscriptions from Abydos are graffiti found in the temples of Seti I and Ramses II. Of those, E.Ab 1–35 were found, copied and published by A. Sayce in 1880s. E.Ab 36–42 were discovered by J. Yoyotte in 1955–1956, but known only from transcriptions, and apparently there are further inscriptions found by Yoyotte that were never published. Most of the graffiti are personal names.

On the undecorated portion of the west wall of the great hall of Osireion, immediately below Horus, close to the ground level. It is inscribed next to the drawing of a foot, typically done by pilgrims who visited the temple, occasionally (as in this case) accompanied by a name.
